Clinical Pharmacist - Specialist (#1430)

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must possess a License to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of New York and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree; or a Master’s degree and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time clinical pharmacy or pharmacy-related experience; or a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of three (3) of full-time clinical pharmacy or pharmacy-related experience.
The preferred candidate will have completed an ASHP accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency, Oncology Specialty Residency and/or BCOP certification and have experience in direct patient care in an oncology setting.

Nature of Work and Responsibilities:
The Clinical Pharmacist - Specialist will provide clinical pharmacy services for the inpatient and ambulatory patients of our Gynecologic Oncology Service. In collaboration with the medical team, the responsibilities of the clinical pharmacist specialist will include optimizing drug therapy, therapeutic drug monitoring, reviewing chemotherapy orders, provision of drug information, and patient counseling. The clinical pharmacist specialist will also be responsible for developing and implementing pharmacy programs and initiatives. There will be ample teaching opportunities available such as precepting PGY2 oncology specialty residents and pharmacy students, and providing educational lectures for medical and pharmacy staff. This position requires involvement in clinical research.
