Position Details:

Shift:  Full-time; Days (8:30am - 4:30pm)

Salary:  $28,152 annually.  Includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must possess a High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in medical billing and follow-up procedures or a related field; or a High School diploma or G.E.D. and Medical Billing Certification.

The preferred candidate will have computer proficiency, experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and clerical experience.  The preferred candidate will also be detail oriented with excellent verbal communication, written communication and organizational skills, be self-motivated, possess knowledge of medical terminology, and have the ability to work well with a team.

Nature of Work and Responsibilities:

This Medical Billing Clerk will organize and alphabetize clinic encounter forms and print corresponding clinic notes and distribute them to coders, enter coding and diagnosis-related data into the GUI daily, and research and print documentation pertaining to appropriate physician signatures and statements.  This candidate will also print demographic sheets and prepare Anesthesia billing sheets, update and provide the Anesthesia Department with weekly reports of documentation deficiencies, print and forward correspondence to outside billing companies and carriers, and enter diagnosis codes for ancillary services.  Further duties will include entering treatment-in-progress for dental services, balancing daily statistics, copying and distributing publications, printing and distributing documentation for Compliance Department audits, printing and distributing demographics for outside physicians, and completing ad hoc assignments and projects.
